New Best Family Member

2010 saw some big changes with Fish Hook Entertainment. I decided to focus my efforts on Disc Jockey services and aim my Video services at businesses.

demoThis year also saw our family grow by one new member, taking the total of Bests living in our house to 6. It can be pretty crazy at times but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Looking forward to seeing what 2011 has in store for Fish Hook Entertainment and the Best family.

One of my goals for the upcoming year is to be more "plugged in". Well, at least more active in updating the site. I really want to dabble in some podcasting.

My day job includes working with technology and teaching teachers how to incorporate it into their daily lessons. With that said, it only makes sense that I would use some sort of "techie" way for your to plan your event.

demoIf you decide to use Fish Hook Entertainment for your event, you will be given an online account which gives you the ability to plan the entertainment for your event entirely online. This is very convenient

if you are planning a party from out of state. Simply log in, click on the desired planning area, save and log out. Once you log out, I get an email alerting me of your changes. If you would like to see what an account looks like, click Client Logon

About Us

In the Beginning:

The idea for Fish Hook Entertainment began forming in 2001. That is the year my wife and I got married. Our reception entertainment was....how do you say....not so good. At our reception I had to tell the DJ when we were ready to cut the cake, do the garter toss etc. I also had a do not play list...well he played at least 5 songs from the "DO NOT PLAY list". Not very accomdating to our needs, which is surprising since we were paying him.I want your reception to be different. You have enough to worry about on the day of your event. We will coordinate via phone, this website and face to face before your event takes place. The day of the event is time for you to relax, I will tell you where to go and when to be there.

The Growing Years:

Fish Hook offically began entertaining crowds back in 2003. I was working a local radio station at the time and we got a call asking if we "DJed" weddings. I politely said, "No, call this other station, I know they have someone over there." After I hung up the phone, the wheels began spinning. I asked my boss if I could use the radio station logo in my literature to help get me started. He said that I could. So I put some things together and entered a local bridal show, where I booked my first two weddings. And I guess the rest is history...or future. I think it would be future since I'm not done yet:)

Where we're going:

We have come a long way since the early days. In the beginning we were spinning the hits on CD's. Then came a sweet little invention, from a produce company, called the iPod. Gone are the days of having to search furiously through the CD collection for a request. Now I don't entertain soley off the iPod, matter of fact, the iPod is my back up. I run my show and mix the hits strait from my "fruit" computer.

Team Bio: Me, Myself and I...

personel bio pic (The Chief): Brian is the one in charge. When you call for an appointment, he is the one you will be talking to. Brian wears many hats. At the age of 34 he is a father of 4. He also has a full time job with the Manatee County School District as an Instructional Technology Specialist. Brian will work hard to make sure all of the details are covered for your special event.

(DJ Dizzy B): DJ B will handle everything on the day of your event. He has the skillz to get your guests on the dance floor and keep them there. He has a phenomenal ability to read the crowd and keep their feet moving. DJ B does take requests at the event. The easiest way to make sure he has all of the music you want for your event is to use the Guest Request System on the home page. Dizzy will do his homework and have all the pre-requests cued and ready to go.
